Volkswagen Warranty Information

Using precision German engineering and the ultimate in craftsmanship, every Volkswagen vehicle is designed to give you peace of mind. And peace of mind starts with an excellent warranty. Every new Volkswagen is protected by a Basic Warranty and also a Powertrain Warranty that protects against any engine, transmission or drivetrain issues.

Basic Warranty

The Volkswagen basic warranty covers your vehicle against defects for 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. This means that repairs to almost any component of your new Volkswagen will be taken care for no cost to you during the warranty period. There is even coverage on “wear and tear” items for a full year or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first.

This basic warranty is sometimes called the bumper-to-bumper warranty because just about anything you can think of is covered. If anything on your new Volkswagen is defective or not operating as it was designed, we’ll fix it for you.

Powertrain Warranty

Under the Volkswagen Powertrain Warranty, things like the engine, transmission, front and/or rear transaxles and other drive components are covered for 5 years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. On 2011 and newer Volkswagen Touareg models, that coverage extends for 10 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. You can be confident in knowing that your new Volkswagen is covered for a good long time.

There is very little possibility that you will need to take advantage of either the Volkswagen Basic Warranty or the Volkswagen Powertrain Warranty, but if you do it’s nice to know that you are covered.
